The present workaimed to evaluate the quality of five honey samples in respect to their physicochem-ical parameters and phenolic compounds contentsanalysis. These honey samples included Saudi; Indian; Argen-tinean; Spanish and Germany. The studied honey samples were collected from local markets in Benghazi city. The moisture; electrical conductivity; optical density; specific gravity; ash content; water insoluble solids; acidity; reduc-ing sugars; sucrose contents; 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfuraldehyde (HMF) and phenolic compounds contents were the parameters analyzedin each honey sample, using the typical methods recommended by International Honey Com-mission. The obtained results where compared with the Libyan Standard Legislation. Concerning the physiochemical parameters, most honey samples were found to meet the Libyan Standard Legislationfor honey. The Germany honey samples showed the highestphenolic compound contents (163.60 ± 2.04 ppm) while the Spanish honey sample showed the lowest value (48.80 ± 2.47ppm).
